Protect their feet and guide their path

Never underestimate the power of focus, fellowship, and fun! Around 175 people gathered last Saturday for StoneBridge Serve with Samaritan's Feet. In fact, we were so focused that we sorted and paired every shoe that was provided and could have done even more! In the end, we helped send about 8,000 pairs of shoes to Tanzania, contributing toward the Samaritan's Feet goal of putting shoes on the ten millionth recipient before the end of the year. Enjoy a few stories from some of our participants.

Why did you want to engage in this opportunity?
"I wanted to be a part of something God is doing globally! I love serving with the church body and getting to meet someone new to StoneBridge or that I’ve never met before. It’s also a great way to remind my kids and myself how incredibly blessed we are for all that we have. Grateful for the opportunity to serve!"

What did you enjoy most about serving?
"Best part? Praying for the men, women, and children who would be wearing these shoes. That the shoes would protect their feet and guide their paths."

What was one thing that impacted you?
"Being a member of the oldest generation, I so enjoyed working with all the younger generations of our church. It was fun to watch the interest and excitement of the children as we worked together to complete the task. Knowing where these shoes would go made it even more meaningful. Thanks! I hope to bring my grandchildren next year."

As we move through the Engage series at church, be prayerful about ways you can engage in service right here in our community and beyond. If you don't know where to start, the Serve page on the church website has lots of opportunities or ideas to get you started.
