In Our Neighborhoods

1. Pray – Start by praying for opportunities to know your neighbors better. If you know a need they may have, pray specifically for them.

2. Say hello – Make opportunities to see a neighbor and speak to them when you get your mail, see them outside, or when you are driving home.

3. Host a Driveway Gathering – Invite neighbors to bring their favorite app and drinks to share, pull out the sidewalk chalk, or a fire pit and let the socializing begin!

4. Ask a neighbor to walk/run/bike with you – This is the time of year people want to get in shape. Choose a day and time to workout in your yard/driveway, or invite them to take a walk.

5. Check on Home-Bound Neighbors – It can get too hot for some neighbors to get outside and may need a friend to talk to, offer to bring coffee/tea and a snack, stay and talk, offer to take out the trash/recycles, ask if they need help.

6. Borrow something – Working on a project and need a tool? Cooking and need an ingredient? Ask a neighbor and make a connection.

7. Book or RightNow Media Club – Choose a book to read or a video series from RightNow Media to watch with neighbors and meet weekly/monthly for discussion.

8. Going out of town? Exchange numbers with your neighbor, offer to take in each other’s mail and or trash cans, offer to watch each other’s house while you’re gone.

9. Give a gift or meal – If you know of a neighbor going through a tough time or celebrating something, take them a gift/meal to let them know you’re thinking about them.

10. Babysit – Offer to babysit for a family that could benefit from having time without their kids, this could be for a couples date, a single mom, or a parent that would enjoy time to themselves.

God has placed us for a purpose in our neighborhoods to build relationships and share his love through our actions and conversations.

From one man he made all the people of the world. Now they live all over the earth. He decided exactly when they should live. And he decided exactly where they should live. God did this so that people would seek him. And perhaps they would reach out for him and find him. They would find him even though he is not far from any of us. Acts 17:26-27
