Considering Sparrows

Considering Sparrows, by Kevin Burrell
June 16, July 21, August 18, September 12 | 6:45am | Google Meet/In Person
Led by Kathy Jackson

Pastor and birder Kevin Burrell takes readers on a one-of-a-kind journey of theology, nature, and wonder that reveal God’s truth through the book of Philippians and the lives of birds.

The world is loud, life is fast, and wonder is slipping through the cracks. But Jesus gave a simple command—consider the birds. Pastor and birder Kevin Burrell takes that call literally, weaving together the beauty of creation, the depth of Scripture, and stunning illustrations from artist Aedan Peterson in a way that is insightful and delightfully unexpected.

Galatians

Galatians
Wednesdays, July 1–August 5 | 6:30pm | Room 201
Led by Helen Bradick

Join us on a journaling journey thru the book of Galatians! In this letter from Paul to the Galatians, Paul’s readers are reminded that they are saved by God’s grace alone, thru faith in Christ, not through Jewish laws (works). Paul wrote because there were false teachers in Galatia teaching “grace plus…” in other words, teaching that salvation required God’s grace AND the observance of Mosaic law.

Each week we will read and study a portion of Galatians on our own, journaling as we study. And we'll be using some guided steps for our journaling. Then when we get together as a group we will talk about what God has shown each of us.

Our hope is that thru this means of study we will grow in our knowledge of and relationship with the Lord, will know his word better, and will have discovered ways that God is asking us to apply His word to our lives. And we will have encouraged each other along the way as together we seek to have God’s word be “the lamp for our feet and the light for our paths…”
