Learn, Grow, and Serve by Becoming a Stephen Minister
Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life.

A Stephen Minister Is …

  • A child of God who walks beside someone who is hurting.

  • A congregation member who is carefully selected to serve in this role because of his or her caregiving gifts.

  • A member with 50 hours of training in providing high-quality, distinctively Christian care.

  • A caring Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports, and encourages.

  • Someone who meets faithfully each week with his or her care receiver for as long as there’s a need.

Through Stephen Ministry, you’ll be equipped to provide a very high level of care. After your training, our Stephen Leaders will match you with someone in need - men are matched with men, and women with women. You’ll meet with that person once a week to listen, care, pray, encourage, and reflect Christ’s presence in his or her life. Stephen Ministry is life-changing for both the care receiver and the Stephen Minister.

“Stephen Minister training taught me not just how to be a caregiver, but how to live life in a new way—being Christ to other people.”
Mike | Carpenter | Kennesaw, Georgia

“Stephen Minister training has helped me grow—personally, spiritually, and professionally. I use my Stephen Minister skills all the time with patients, peers, and physicians.”
Anna | Registered Nurse | Hendersonville, Tennessee

“Stephen Minister training has enhanced every relationship I have. Now I can listen and be there without feeling like I need to rush in and try to fix things. (My 15-year-old finds this a great blessing!) I’m much more at peace in difficult situations because I realize that it’s not me—but Christ within me—who does the work.”
Susan | Licensed Massage Therapist | Saint Petersburg, Florida
