Caterpillar Ministries serves more than 450 children and adults in the Huntington Green neighborhood through their four pillars of care: faith development, academic achievement, crisis care, and advocacy support. Volunteers are utilized in a variety of ways, offering interaction with any age group in the community!

Heart Math Tutoring gives young students successful experiences in math through one-on-one, volunteer-delivered tutoring during the school day. Parkside Elementary School (less than 3 miles from StoneBridge) is looking for volunteers to support students performing below grade level in math. All it takes is 30 minutes or one hour per week to make a significant difference in the life of a student!

The mission of URBANPROMISE CHARLOTTE is to provide Charlotte’s children and youth with the spiritual, academic, and social development necessary to become Christian leaders determined to restore their communities. Volunteers and Paid Substitute Teachers Needed
CLICK below and choose which schools you'd like to volunteer in, then contact the school to see where they can use you. You must be registered through the CMS website in order to volunteer.

CMS relies heavily on substitute teachers to continue high quality instruction during periods when staff members are absent or on an approved leave. The minimum requirements for a Non-Certified Substitute within CMS are: applicant must be at least 21 years old and must have a high school diploma.

Other Tutoring Opportunities

Tutor Charlotte provides educational support and helps close the learning gap in students who are struggling. Training is provided and you can choose to tutor reading or math, virtually or in person, during school hours or after.
